About University: Founded in 1970, Waterford Institute of Technology is situated in the city and consists of six schools and 16 departments. The institute has five main campuses: Cork Road, College Street, West Campus (Carriganore), the Applied Technology Building and the Granary. The main campus is located on the R680 (the old Cork Road) and houses the majority of the institute's departments, including the engineering, science, business and health sciences schools. The College Street campus is the second largest with the vast majority of the Humanities and Education schools located here, as well as the library.

The Carrignore, or West Campus, is located outside the city near the Waterford Bypass. It is the goal of the Institute that this campus become its main campus in the year to come. At present it houses the TSSG Building, the ArcLabs Research and Innovation Centre, the National Biodiversity Centre, Carriganore House and the WIT Sports Campus. The Applied Technology Building, which is on lease from IDA Ireland, is located in Waterford's Industrial Estate – just a two minute walk from the main campus. It houses engineering workshops and technology based facilities as well as the Careers Centre and the Engineering Research area. Finally The Granary houses the department of Architecture and Architecture Technology in the old museum of Treasures of Waterford. This building is on Merchant's Quay, close to the city centre.

UG: You must have a Secondary/High School Diploma, with good grades in English and Mathematics and at least 4 other subjects, on average + 60%.

PG: For entry to masters programmes, applicants must have no backlogs during the 3/4 years of their degree
