About The Institute : The Eastern Institute of Technology (EIT) is a government owned tertiary education institution. EIT was established in 4 October 1975. It has three main campuses, one in Napier known as EIT Hawke's Bay, one in Gisborne known as EIT Tairāwhiti, as well as a Rural Studies Unit known as RSU and our newest campus in Auckland known as EIT Auckland. It has two faculties. The Faculty of Educations, Humanities, and Health Science includes Te Ūranga Waka - Te Whatukura, Toihoukura, Education and Social Sciences, Health and Sport Science and Nursing schools, and an Ideaschool. The Faculty of Commerce and Technology includes Tourism and Hospitality, English Language Centre, Trades and Technology, Business, Computing and Applied Science schools.

Accommodation: The Student Village (SV) is a self-catering complex of 12 villas housing six students in each. Both New Zealand and international students live together (mixed gender), and although each student has their own furnished bedroom, students share lounge, kitchen and bathroom facilities in each villa. Students are welcome to arrange their own private accommodation. Rent ranges from $100 – $200 per week depending on location and utilities included. Where utilities are not included in the rent, students can expect to pay per week: Internet $10 and Power $10-$20. All of our homestay families are carefully selected and supervised. They have been vetted by police and inspected by EIT staff. The cost of homestay is NZ$ 215 per week.

Admission Requirement*: 

Undergraduate: Achieved an overall average of 65% in the Higher Secondary School Examination or All-India Senior School Certificate with a minimum of 60% in English.

Postgraduate: An appropriate postgraduate degree from a recognized tertiary institution is required.

IELTS Requirements: 

Undergraduate: Academic score of 6 with no band score lower than 5.5.

Postgraduate: Academic score of 6.5 with no band score lower than 6.0.

Fees Range: The annual UG & PG tuition fees ranges from 18,000 to 26,000 NZ$.
