About University: If you're the outdoor type, Bangor could be the place for you. It's close to the sea and the mountains. The cost of living is low, and part-time work is fairly easy to come by, so it might be easier on your wallet than some places, too. The town - actually one of the UK's smallest cities - has a significant proportion of Welsh speakers.

As for the university itself, major investment has provided more student accommodation and it is expanding academically, too, with new courses introduced every year. The university counts Danny Boyle, the Oscar-winning director of Slumdog Millionaire, among its alumni.
